Glad to say that I’ve implemented ecto_materialized_path package: GitHub - asiniy/ecto_materialized_path: Tree structure & hierarchy for ecto models · GitHub which allows us to store trees in the flat sql tables and use it from ecto.
It’s battle tested and I think is ready to be revealed to the 
world
